Spotlight on the North Shore – Romance and So Much More!

Let’s start our “3-Day Love Tour” taking in the North Shore’s awe-inspiring beauty: white sandy beaches, bountiful taro fields, and picturesque mountain views. There is so much to explore and every day you’ll be amazed and inspired by the many ways of having a unique and romantic adventure that you’ll always remember. And, when you feel like relaxing, stay home and Enjoy a romantic dinner in your cozy, Kauai Vacation Rentals & Real Estate, Inc accommodation!  Sounds nice, yeah?  Let’s get our Romance tour started! : -)

Day 1: Exploring Hanalei Town

Start your romantic island tour on the North Shore in beautiful Hanalei Town. Known for its colorful shops, museums and restaurants… Hanalei has plenty of activities for you and your mate to discover, starting with the Waioli Mission House Museum. Constructed in 1837 as a residence for Christian missionaries, the restored home and grounds showcase beautiful furnishings, period artifacts, and Hawaiian memorabilia that lets us see what life was like during 19th century Kauai!

USA Today names Waioli Mission House Museum in its “10 Best” historic sites on Kauai and an early morning visit is a great way of settling into the sweet and rhythmic pace of “island time” – a feeling that helps you slow down and appreciate every moment of being with your sweetheart.

Hanalei Valley Lookout

Continue your first day with a short drive to Hanalei Valley Lookout. Located off Highway 560, make sure to look for a “pull out” on the mauka (mountain) side of the road, just past the Princeville shopping center while heading west. This great lookout spot features sweeping views of Hanalei Bay, the mountains, and the lush valley in between.

If you and your special someone love being surrounded by natural beauty, get ready for some “cuddle time” while taking in some of the most breathtaking views of Kauai with an occasional rainbow.  :- )

Hanalei Bay and Pier

After a day of seeing Kauai’s natural and historic wonders, grab lunch at one of the many fun restaurants in Hanalei followed by a walk on Hanalei Bay’s two-mile beach. Romance abounds when you’re surrounded by lush mountain landscapes.

According to WikipediaThe wetlands of Hanalei Bay were used to grow taro by ancient Hawaiians. By the 1860s, the new crop was rice, which was shipped to Honolulu to become the second largest export crop of the islands. The Hanalei Pier was built to help Hanalei farmers move their crops to market. The covered pier's location near the mouth of the Hanalei River and Black Pot Beach has long been a favorite family gathering place for fishing, picnicking, swimming, and playing.

Take a look at the photo above, shared from Wikipedia CC contributor Jawed Karim. At the end of a wonderful day of sightseeing along Hanalei Bay Beach Park, experience a beautiful sunset while standing on the world-famous Hanalei Pier.

Wow! Sounds like a perfect day in paradise… just wait until Day 2!

Day 2: Touring Princeville and the North Shore

To the east of Hanalei Town is world-renowned Princeville. Named in honor of a visit by Prince Albert Kamehameha in the year 1860, Princeville is known for its elegant resorts, championship golf courses, and world-class hospitality. Just outside of town, take a journey to family-owned Princeville Ranch for a romantic hike and/or horseback ride to Kalihiwai Falls. For lunch, load your backpack with poetry plus snacks and sandwiches you can pick up at Princeville Market. You’ll find great meals like super food smoothies and daily fresh-made sandwiches!  Yum!  Here’s a peek at the menu!

Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge

After your morning outdoors, take a 16-minute drive from Princeville to Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. This is one of the best places on Kauai to view animals in their natural habitat, including some of the largest populations of nesting seabirds, spinner dolphins, monk seals, and Hawaii’s state bird, the nēnē. This setting is a nature enthusiast’s dream!

Next, take a stroll to Kauai’s northernmost point and explore the centerpiece of this treasured area, the Daniel K. Inouye Kilauea Point Lighthouse. Gaze out to the Pacific Ocean view and expand your love in Kauai’s sweet fresh air. One breath in while admiring the view will reveal why this is one of Kauai’s most popular tourist attractions!

Enjoy An Early Dinner at Makana Terrace

It is true. Makana Terrace is one of our favorite spots to Enjoy a great meal. The menu is scrumptious and the view is mesmerizing. Check out the picture below!  Can you see yourself sitting here with your mate, sipping a delicious tropical beverage while the sounds of the ocean help you lose yourself in the surroundings of paradise?

Day 3: Your Adventure to the Na Pali Coast

For one of the most breathtaking views in all of Hawaii, spend some time seeing Na Pali Coast. Words can barely describe its majestic views and lush landscapes and we can assure you, you’ll have fun telling your Friends all about it!

There are a few ways to see our beautiful coastline: by air, by boat, and by hiking – and soon, in the upcoming film, “Jurassic World” – the latest installment of the dinosaur adventure movie series, opening June 12, 2015!
